Meet Monica
Monica Radyko, wife, and mother of two, is a former elementary teacher. She graduated from Oakland University earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Language Arts. She completed her master’s degree at Saginaw Valley State University in Early Childhood Education in addition to a ZA Endorsement. Teaching in both charter and public schools provided her with invaluable perspective and experience in helping young minds grow. While living in Clinton Twp. and Macomb Twp. over the last eleven years, the Chippewa Valley School District has been home. She became invested in running for the school board after seeing the affects virtual learning and other Covid-19 changes had on her children as well as others in the community. The last few years have been exceedingly difficult for educators and students resulting in significant learning loss and mental health issues for children K-12. Monica’s focus is on parental involvement through partnership and open communication. One of her top goals is to implement sustainable programs that improve student outcomes. She will address the serious issues of declining enrollment, low reading and math scores, increasing hostile behaviors of students, school safety, and supporting teachers and support staff. Monica started attending school board meetings in May of 2021. She is an advocate in the community, encouraging parents to attend board meetings and to become more involved in their children’s education. She is very dedicated to making changes for students to receive the best education possible.
